Frequently Asked Questions
What happens during a session?
Should you elect to continue after your free consultation, you will find yourself relaxing in a comfortable recliner, listening to soothing background music (or sounds) in the clinic’s pleasant and private room. There is really nothing for you to do but sit back, relax, and let the Hypnotist guide you on this peaceful journey.
The Hypnotist uses a technique that engages your imagination, concentration and expectations so that you will accept positive suggestions while in a deeply relaxed and alert state. Your mind will reject any suggestions that are not in your best interest.
During the intake and subsequent visits you will be working closely with the Hypnotist, allowing her to create effective suggestions that will bring you the greatest benefit towards reaching your goals and achieving success.
Who can be hypnotized?
About 95% of the population is hypnotizable.
Can you get stuck in hypnosis?
No. You will either wake up feeling refreshed or drift off to sleep. The Hypnotist always brings the client back to full consciousness after the session.
Will I know what is going on during the session?
Yes. You are alert and aware at all times.
I've never been hypnotized and I am afraid of it.
Hypnosis is a normal and natural state. You probably experience a very mild form of hypnosis every day. When you daydream, feel drowsy, become engrossed in a good book and even sometimes when you are watching a show you are feeling light hypnosis.
Someone wants me to change, but I'm not ready. Can I make changes for someone else?
No. Hypnosis only works if you want to see improvements in your life. The session is about you and finding a way to help you achieve your dreams, desires and wishes. A willingness and desire to make changes is absolutely required and it doesn't work if you aren't ready. I can't make you do anything, and neither can anyone else, if you don't want to. But if you have a real desire to change, then hypnosis can help and is a very effective tool.
I'm afraid I might lose control and do/say things I will regret?
You, the client, are in control of yourself the whole time. You can talk, you won't divulge any secrets, and you won't do anything you would not be comfortable doing in a normal waking state.
You cannot do anything against your will. That is why coming to the session with a willingness to make to make the desired changes is so crucial
What part of my mind does hypnosis work on and how?
The subconscious mind. Hypnosis is a safe and effective way to gently quiet the conscious mind so that the subconscious mind can accept and adopt new habits.
Will I be asleep?
You are not asleep. In fact you will be aware of what is going on and being said.
Why do people use hypnosis?
Hypnosis has many uses. The four most common reasons why someone seeks the help of a Hypnotist are stress reduction, weight control, smoking cessation, and motivation. However, the list of issues that are well-addressed by hypnosis is virtually endless. Among the more typical are:
